The important transportation network project undertaken by Chinese enterprises in Uganda has been opened to traffic
On November 1st, local time, the 104-kilometer road upgrade and reconstruction project from
Musita to Luminu and Busia to Majanki in Uganda held an opening ceremony in Musita Town, Mayogo District.
The highway was built by a Chinese company, and Ugandan President Museveni attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon for the opening to traffic.
The upgrade and reconstruction project of Musita-Luminu and Busia-Majanki roads is an important part of Uganda’s national road network.
The project is located in the eastern part of Uganda. Construction started in February 2015.
original dirt road was upgraded to asphalt road. , Two-way two-lane, design speed of 90 kilometers per hour.
This road is a traffic artery connecting Jinja, the largest city in eastern Ukraine, to the border town of Busia.
After opening to traffic, the journey time from Jinja to the Kenyan border will be shortened from the original 5 hours to 2 hours.
