January 12th Due to the violent conflict in the U.S. Capitol, Canadian officials are considering including Pride Boys as terrorist organizations.
According to the Guardian, Bill Blair, Canada’s Minister of Public Security, said that his office was paying close attention to Pride Boys, an organization brought together by forces such as “white supremacists” and “anti-Semitism”.
Blair said that the government is currently collecting evidence and intelligence so that the organization can be better dealt with. However, Blair did not disclose when the organization was officially listed as a terrorist organization.
Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the Federal New Democratic Party of Canada, said in the riots in the U.S. Congress that it was necessary to list “Proud Boys” as a terrorist organization, and said that they had already been the act of a terrorist organization to help people break into the Capitol.
Singer said that the founder of Pride Boys was Canadian, and now they are operating in Canada.
The Pride Boys was founded in 2016 by Vice magazine co-founder Gavin McInnes, an organization that made headlines for disrupting Aboriginal advocacy marches.
In recent years, the organization has been banned by major platforms for publishing hate speech on social media platforms in North America and classified as an extremist organization by the FBI.
The report said that being listed as a terrorist in Canada would mean that the assets of the organization may be confiscated by the Canadian government.
