Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said on Tuesday that the government will further clarify its export plan for the coronavirus vaccine in the coming weeks.
Su Jiesheng said at the Reuters Next meeting that India understands the anxiety of foreign governments about sending vaccines to the people in time.
India is one of the world’s largest producers of vaccines and generic drugs, and is expected to become an important production center for the novel coronavirus vaccine.
“We will soon be clear what we consume for the coronavirus vaccine and how much doses we should produce. And India will also try its best to maintain its global drug production advantage,” he said.
