January 8, Alrabia TV quoted Reuters as saying that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that Iran was banned from importing coronavirus vaccines from the United Kingdom and the United States.
According to the Russian satellite news agency, Jahanpur, the head of public relations department of Iran’s Ministry of Health, said that Tehran will consider Russia’s coronavirus vaccine, including the “satellite V” vaccine, when deciding whether to buy anti-coronavirus preparations from abroad.
Jahanpur pointed out that Tehran expects to get its first domestic vaccine in the spring of 2021, and plans to develop two or three more models by the summer. He said that Iran was willing to provide preparations to other countries.
