According to local media reports on the 6th, Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Khalai Zeid, announced that the Egyptian Ministry of Health will visit and follow up and monitor COVID-19 patients in home quarantine.
According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Health, the operation was launched on January 6 in Cairo, Giza and Gulubiu provinces, and will gradually expand to all provinces.
The purpose of this operation is to follow up and monitor mild patients who are quarantined at home, including not only cases tested and confirmed by hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health, but also cases diagnosed and confirmed by private doctors.
The Ministry of Health will provide medical services to these patients and monitor changes in their health status during isolation.
If the patient’s condition deteriorates, it will be transferred to designated hospitals for treatment.
At present, the Ministry of Health has designated 20,000 medical teams to visit patients in home quarantine.
In addition, 5,400 medical institutions and a medical center will be designated to follow up and monitor patients, and 800 medical vehicles will be stationed in areas with high infection rates.
