The number of shootings increased by nearly 96% compared with the same period in 2019. 2020 is expected to be the most shooting year in New York in 14 years.
New York police said that the early release of some criminals due to the COVID-19 epidemic is also one of the reasons for the surge in gun violence cases in New York.
