December 14th – On theĀ evening of the 13th local time, the 2020 Miss Thailand beauty pageant was held in Chiang Mai.
Nattahaphat Phongpraphan, a 27-year-old student, eventually became Miss Thailand in the 52nd session.
According to Thai media reports such as the National Daily, this year’s beauty pageant ended at the Chiang Mai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The champion belongs to Natapa, who is studying at the National Mahidol University of Thailand, majoring in earth sciences.
It is reported that in addition to a cash reward of 1 million Thai ts ($31k), the champion has also won a diamond crown, a decorative stick, a scholarship from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce up to the doctorate, etc.
Thai media said that the new Miss Thailand will also serve as a cultural ambassador to promote Thailand’s image and tourism to international audiences.
It is worth noting that in the earlier beauty pageant-related activities, the participating beauty also encountered a “small accident”.
On December 7, when 30 beautiful women were standing on a resort’s suspension bridge and posing for photos, an unexpected scene suddenly happened: the suspension bridge broke with a crack, causing all 30 people to be thrown into the pond, and the scene was in chaos.
Thai media said that in the fall accident, two people were scratched and one person was injured in the head.
The resort provided 500,000 tay compensation and promised not to let such accidents happen again.
