At the Presidential Human Rights Commission held on the 10th
Russian President Putin said that several ministerial officials of the Russian Federation
are currently infected with the novel coronavirus
but still insist on working in the ward or at home.
Putin did not disclose the name and position of the infected official.
Putin: Some foreign partners who advocate “freedom of speech” recklessly suppress the Russian media.
On December 10th local time, Russian President Putin pointed out in a videoconference with members of the Commission on Civil Society for Social Development and Human Rights that although some foreign partners have been advocating “freedom of expression”, they use their media as tools for achieving political purposes and harm the rights and interests of the Russian media.
Putin said that from the work of Russian journalists abroad, it can be seen that many countries, at least those that maintain potential competitive relations or even hostile relations with Russia, and some countries that openly regard Russia as a geopolitical enemy in official documents, have begun to suppress Russian journalists.
Although these countries advocate “freedom of speech”, in fact, they say one thing and do the other, promoting content that is in their own favor. This is used as a means to achieve its own goals in the international community, which also involves relations with Russia.
Putin also stressed the need to respond quickly and severely to acts that harm the interests of Russian journalists abroad.
