According to NBC, a laboratory in New Jersey suspected to provide fake coronavirus tests has been raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). At present, the FBI urges people who have undergone “fast fingertip sampling” coronavirus testing at the laboratory to immediately re-examine and contact the agency.
In a statement on the 4th, the FBI said that the laboratory was called “Infinite” Diagnostic Laboratory, claiming to provide “ten minutes of rapid testing”, including virus and antibody testing. The laboratory adopts a blood sample from the fingertips, but the FBI said that only two methods, nasal test and pharynx test, are applicable to coronavirus test. According to the report, FBI staff conducted a surprise search of the laboratory on Thursday.
According to reports, Mr. Brian Strahl had paid his employees to do coronavirus tests at the laboratory, and now he is very worried about the results. He told NBC: “I feel that providing false and inaccurate tests has made the already bad situation ten times worse. Because it puts people at risk, and (if the result is negative), it will also give people an unreal sense of security. I think this is terrible.”
The FBI said anyone who had been tested at the lab should re-examine and contact the agency because the agency’s response was “very useful for the investigation.”
According to the report, the “unlimited” diagnostic laboratory has not answered calls from NBC and declined to comment.
