Conflict in Myanmar’s Rakhine State subsides, more than 60,000 refugees return home one after anotherm
In the past two decades, the armed conflict in Myanmar’s Rakhine State has gradually subsided, and large numbers of refugees have begun to return to their homes.
According to statistics from the Rakhine National Association, more than 60,000 refugees have returned to their original places of origin, but most of them only went back to check the destruction of the rice fields and villages that are about to be harvested, and will officially move out of the refugee camp after confirming that the situation is completely stable.
On returning home, only about 3,000 people have officially confirmed to the refugee camp to move back to their original place of residence. Currently, the refugees returning home are mainly from Kyaukphyu and Langli. The camps in other areas are still quite crowded.
According to statistics, as of December 3, excluding the refugees who have returned home recently, there are still 19,094 refugees in refugee camps in Rakhine State.
