According to the latest data of the Iranian Ministry of Health, as of the 3rd local time, 13,922 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 358 new deaths in a single day in Iran, with a total of more than 1 million confirmed cases. On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif said that the U.S. sanctions created artificial obstacles to Iran’s fight against the epidemic.
According to statistics, there are 254,831 confirmed cases in Iran, of which 5,824 are seriously ill. Iran can conduct nucleic acid tests 30,000 to 40,000 times a day. According to the latest severity of the epidemic, Iran currently has 64 red risk cities, 278 orange risk cities and 106 yellow risk cities respectively.
In addition, the head of Iran’s budget and planning organization recently issued a government permit to allow relevant institutions to hire 30,000 people as medical personnel to relieve the huge pressure on the health care system.
On the 3rd local time, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif once again condemned the inhumane sanctions imposed by the United States against Iran in a videoconference. He said that the COVID-19 epidemic in Iran is very bad, and the autumn and winter flu has also made it more difficult for Iran to fight the epidemic.
Although medical personnel are already very professional and competent, Iran still faces a problem that the rest of the world has not faced, that is, the economic campaign.
He said that if it were not for U.S. sanctions, Iran could buy more epidemic necessities and coronavirus vaccines from other countries. Previously, Iran’s Ministry of Health and the Central Bank tried to remit funds to the World Health Organization to buy a coronavirus vaccine, but the move failed.
Zarif said that the U.S. sanctions have created many obstacles to Iran’s anti-epidemic efforts, which is a serious crime against humanity committed by the U.S. government.
