According to the Russian satellite news agency on December 3, a poll conducted by the Russian polling agency “Social Opinion” Foundation shows that in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, more than half of Russians support the cancellation of New Year’s celebrations nationwide.
Poll results show that 51% of Russians advocate canceling large-scale events nationwide. Meanwhile, 24% of the population believe that individual areas should cancel the celebration. Respondents believe that this can reduce the number of people infected with the novel coronavirus. Another 20% of the respondents believe that the cancellation of activities is incorrect, and such restrictions will make people’s original depression worse.
The data shows that 86% of Russians do not intend to change their plans during the New Year, and even cancel large-scale events such as garden tours in their regions.
The poll was conducted from November 20 to 22.
