November 26 According to South Korean media reports, on the 26th local time, the Seoul Central District Court of South Korea sentenced Zhao Zhubin, the main offender of the “Room N” case, to 40 years in prison.

South Korean media previously exposed a series of online sexual crimes, collectively known as the “N room” case. Someone opens an encrypted chat room on instant messaging software to upload and share illegally taken sexual exploitation videos and photos, which can only be watched by paying to become a member. The platform can set up private chat, delete information regularly after reading, etc., and support virtual currency transactions.\

“Room N” is operated by many people, of which the most attention is the person nicknamed “Doctor”, whose real name is Zhao Zhubin. Since 2019, Zhao Zhubin has uploaded a large number of photos of suspected sexual crimes in the “Doctoral Room” and extorted victims.

On March 25, 2020, Zhao Zhubin was transferred to the prosecution for review and prosecution. South Korean prosecutors detained and charged Zhao Zhubin on 14 counts on April 13. In October, South Korean prosecutors requested that Cho Joo-bin be sentenced to life imprisonment and wear electronic anklets for 45 years.

After investigation, as many as 149 civil servants were investigated and punished by the South Korean police for digital sexual crimes such as “Room N” and “Doctoral Room”.

Previously, according to the information received from the Police Department, members of the Administrative Security Committee of the Korean National Assembly said that a total of 149 civil servants were investigated and punished by the Special Investigation Department of Digital Sexual Offences.

In terms of occupation, there are the largest number of soldiers and civil servants, with 128; 8 teachers; 4 civil servants of the police and local self-government organizations; 2 firefighters; 1 staff of the National University Hospital, Protection Observer and 1 staff and 1 staff of state-owned enterprises.

Police said that 128 soldiers and military personnel have been transferred to the army, and the remaining 21 have been put on file, of which 5 have been detained.
