On the 21st local time, the New Zealand health department announced that a total of 36 variant COVID-19 infections have recently been found in New Zealand, infected with variant COVID-19 previously found in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
At present, all these patients are in government-run quarantine hotels.
The New Zealand government has taken measures to further strengthen border control.
According to the latest requirements, starting from 11:59 New Zealand time on January 25, 2021, all passengers to New Zealand except Australia, Antarctica and most Pacific islands will be tested for COVID-19 nucleic acid within 72 hours before departure and board the plane with a negative certificate.
From February 8th, if the new arrivals fail to provide the relevant negative report, they will be fined up to 1,000 New Zealand dollars
