Recently, Russian scholars found 18 variant COVID-19 in a woman with low immunity, some of which are the same as the new variant virus in the United Kingdom, and two of which are the same as the variant novel coronavirus carried by Danish mink.

According to a report by Russia’s newspaper News on the 12th, the 47-year-old woman has lymphoma.

In April 2020, the woman contracted the novel coronavirus during a chemotherapy session.

Since then, she has been regularly tested for nucleic acid, and until September 9, the test results have been positive.

According to the introduction, part of the variant COVID-19 in the woman’s body is the same as the variant virus previously observed in patients with weak immunity, and also the same as the new variant virus in Britain.

In addition, two variant viruses also match the variant novel coronavirus carried by Danish mink.

Konstantin Krutovsky, a professor in the Department of Genomics and Bioinformatics of the Federal University of Siberia, pointed out that the research confirmed for the first time the fact that “the long-term presence of COVID-19 in an organism can lead to a large number of mutations”.

At the same time, he pointed out that it is too early to judge the transmission rate of the “Russian” strain, because only one case has appeared.

According to the latest data released on the official website of COVID-19 epidemic prevention in Russia on the 12th, 22,934 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia, with a total of 344,203 confirmed cases, 531 new deaths from COVID-19 and 62,804 deaths.
