The New York Post reported on the 22nd that 15 people in a small town in Chile were infected with the novel coronavirus after attending a cat birthday party.
According to the report, the party was held in Santo Domingo, Valparaiso, Chile, and it is not clear when the party will be held.
The report mentioned that 10 people who came to the party were infected with the novel coronavirus, and the other five infected were relatives and friends of the cat owner. However, it is reported that the cat who celebrates its birthday has not been infected with the novel coronavirus.
“When I heard it was a cat’s birthday party, I thought it was a joke,” Francesco Álvarez, Chile’s regional health minister in Valparaiso, said in an interview with the local media, citing the British Daily Mail.
They may want to hide something.
“[Though] we have confirmed this, with at least 6 of the 15 infected people telling us the same thing,” Alvarez said, unbelievable that despite the severe warnings from the relevant authorities about the outbreak, the people are still holding gatherings.
“It’s complicated and [also] a little incredible,” Alvarez added, “especially given that we’ve said and stressed in various ways that people need to take security measures if they’re going to meet.”
