November 1st. A few days ago, the leader of the Kerala state parliament in India made a shocking statement, claiming that “if a woman is raped, she will die if she has self-respect.” This remark was slammed by Indian public opinion.

According to the “India Express” report, on the 1st local time, Mullappally Ramachandran, the leader of the Parliament of Kerala, India, made this shocking remark in Trivandrum. The news quickly made headlines in the media.

Ramachandran’s remarks were directed at an Indian woman who recently accused the leader of parliament of rape.

However, Ramachandran was shocking when talking about this, saying, “Any woman who has been raped will die if she has self-esteem, or avoid being raped again. However, she has been crying and complaining that she has been raped. Rape again and again.”

Ramachandran also pointed out that the fact that the woman broke the news of being raped was nothing but politics.

Ramachandran’s remarks were quickly condemned by public opinion. The Minister of Women and Child Development of Kerala, Shailaja, criticized such high-level politicians as “dangerous” and “inappropriate”.

Shay Raja also said that Ramachandran’s remarks reflected his views on women and were completely wrong. “Is it the woman’s fault to be raped? The person who commits the rape is the criminal and they must be punished.”

After the incident, Ramachandran quickly apologized for his sexually discriminatory statements, and said

“If these remarks are considered to be directed at a specific group of people, I regret that if these remarks are misunderstood as opposition in some respects Women, that’s not right.”
